Best. Babysitter. Ever.

Yesterday Ben was a little under the weather, fighting the stomach flu that he had caught from Lia.  Darrin and I felt guilty bringing an innocent person into our house of germs, so we cancelled on our sitter for the night and figured our date night to the Pro Bull Rodeo was not going to happen.

But at the last minute I decided to see what my brother was up to.  I mean, he's around us anyway and exposed to our germs all the time, right?  Here's how it went:

Well, being the world's most awesome brother, Leo offered to play Wii with the kids.  So Darrin and I went on our date night to the rodeo, followed by Rick's Dessert Diner.  Don't feel too bad for Leo though, he's getting a lasagna and another meal of his choice in return.

The next morning we were talking to the kids about their evening:

Lia:  "Uncle Leo is the best."

Me:  "Oh yeah?  What did you guys do while we were gone?"

Ben:  "We played Wii the WHOLE TIME!"

Lia:  "We watched a movie, too."

Ben:  "And we got to eat cookies!"

Lia:  "And we stayed up really late!"

Ben:  "Uncle Leo is the best babysitter ever."

Leo really is the best, and I totally and completely appreciate him coming over yesterday so D and I could escape for a while.  But I still think I will set limits on Wii, movies and cookies when our usual sitters come over - just so evenings with Uncle Leo will always be just this special for the kids.
