Kids, Dogs, Friends and Wine

It was probably THE BEST camping trip of the year. . . . Lawson's Landing at Dillon Beach with incredibly lucky, awesome weather and good friends by our side.  We made this one a long weekend - Friday to Monday - and each day the weather was better and better.  We made the trip with the Newby family (longtime friends and camping buddies), and the Biava family (new best friends and first time camping with the group).  Later, we were joined by the Krenzler family (also longtime friends).  So between the four families we had eight adults, nine children, four dogs and I believe fifteen bottles of wine.  Whew.

As I've mentioned before, Dillon Beach is one of my favorite camp spots by far.  There is so much to do - riding bikes, playing at the beach, crabbing, fishing, clamming, drinking.  Group camping is the best because with no designated camp spots, we can just circle the wagons and create our own little getaway - which is what we did this weekend because the place was PACKED!!

Camping with best friends is the easiest thing in the world.  Our kids would bounce from motorhome to trailer to motorhome, welcome and at home in any one.  We shared snacks, meals (and wine), firewood, music and sand toys.  We'd play fetch with each others dogs, discipline each others kids, clean each others dishes (and did I mention drink each others wine?).  The result was a very relaxing weekend, full of fun.
