My Best Fathers Day

I know, it's not supposed to be about me, but seriously, this was my best Father's Day EVER! 

Because. . . my wonderful, awesome, handsome, incredible brother and his wonderful, awesome, beautiful, incredible girlfriend offered to take our kids for the night.  So Darrin and I went to a fabulous dinner at The Grange, and stayed overnight at the Sheraton Grand Hotel, then spent the day together until our kids were returned to us around 5pm this evening.  It was just the rest and relaxation we needed.  I truly think we are better parents when sometimes we get time away. 

And because we were away, I am only now getting to my blog, to write about two men who mean the world to me:  my husband and my Dad. 

I know I have already gone on and on about the many reasons I am in love with my husband after our eleven years of being together.  But I swear, there are new reasons every day that I love him even more.  He is such an amazing husband and an incredible father to our children.  I am so very blessed that God brought Darrin into my life.  And on top of everything, he is truly the person who can make me laugh and smile no matter what is going on in life. 

And then there is my Dad - my hero, my mentor, my knight on a white horse.  Even as an adult, when I know my Dad is a mere mortal, I still have that sense of awe when I'm around him.  I wonder if there will ever be a time when I don't feel like a five year old girl, smiling up at her Daddy and feeling so special just to be near him. 

With two amazing men to look up to, I know my son will grow up to be fantastic.  Happy Father's Day to my Dad, to Darrin and to all our friends and family who are wonderful fathers!
