Another Great Man

I absolutely love my father in law, Richard (a.k.a. "Digger") Kimble.  There is no doubt in my mind what my husband will look like as he ages, because he is the spitting image of his father both in looks and build.  And they are very similar in nature, as well.

Digger was a great father according to stories Darrin tells me, teaching his three sons how to fish, hunt, operate a backhoe and other equipment, and work hard.  Our kids love Grandpa Digger because he lets them play on the tractors, eat dried cherries with him, use his "TV ears" (headphones) to watch TV, and gives them beer cans to crush.  Digger also seems to be a wonderful husband and I am very grateful for the lessons he instilled in Darrin.  Darrin is definitely the man he is today because of Digger's influence.

What I love most about Digger is his understated sense of humor - exactly like my husband's.  He will be very quiet and out of nowhere he drops a line that puts me in stitches.  Happy Father's Day to another great man, one that I have grown to love very much over the past eleven years.
