While my parents are on their year-long boating trip, my step-mom, Carrie, has been sending postcards to Ben and Lia about once a week on average. The kids don't make a huge deal about the postcards, but I know they love getting them because they always stop to read them, and I find the cards hanging up in their rooms, or stowed away in their backpacks.
On our trip to San Diego, we went into a convenience store to get some things we needed. Ben saw the display of postcards and instantly started asking me if he could buy one to send to Grandma Carrie. I agreed, and he picked his favorite one.
While we were driving home on our eight hour journey, Ben started writing on his postcard. He didn't show it to me until he was done. I promised I would send it, but my parents don't really have a stationary address while on their trip. So I'm going to post pictures of the card here and I'll put the original on their kitchen counter for when they return home.
