This week has been so stressful (I know - you're probably getting tired of hearing that from me, but I swear this job was not nearly as stressful BEFORE THE RECESSION). Seriously, if it weren't for planning dinner out tonight and securing a babysitter (thanks Mom!), I may have even forgotten it was my birthday at all.
Anyway, Darrin's card was just what I needed. He even drew a little guy on a bicycle. The card says:
You and I, years and
years from now,
cruising along some coastal
highway with the top down,
stereo blasting,
the wind whipping our hair.
Whatever we want to do,
we do it.
No agenda, no schedule,
nobody else
to worry about.
buying silly T-shirts
and sending postcards,
stopping at tiny
roadside cafes
in search of the
world's best blueberry pie.
No hurry. No rush.
Relaxing in the comfort
of a lifetime
of companionship.
You and I . . .
lovers, friends, partners
on this road of life.
Happy Birthday.
I love my husband. I love my family. I love my friends. Even with all the stress, my life is a good one and I am blessed. It is a happy birthday.
