Opening Day

Saturday was finally opening day of little league, after having postponed it two weeks due to weather.  Ben was SO excited.  Just like last year, the teams decorated trucks, drove through Rancho Murieta throwing candy at the spectators, lined up in the Stonehouse baseball field for what felt like an eternity of speeches, and then partied in the bounce house until their tired parents dragged them out.

Darrin commented that when he was young, they would spend days getting a float ready for opening day.  I reminded him that since it was less than a mile long parade, and since building a float would be one more thing we'd have to try and squeeze into our schedules, we should just be happy that streamers do the trick in the Cosumnes River Little League.
