Away To Monterey

After a major rocky start to our day, we finally made it in our Winnebago to our destination for spring break:  Monterey!  This is one of those RV-ing trips and not a camping trip by any means.  But it sure is nice to pile the family into our Winnie and stay in our own "home" instead of a hotel.  Granted, if Darrin and I were traveling alone we would have no problem staying at a nice little B and B.  But the thought of eating every meal at a restaurant with our kids and food limitations is daunting.  So the motorhome is a great way to visit destinations like this one.

The agenda for day one was to settle in the RV park, visit the nearby beach and just otherwise relax.  Our RV site is situated on the outside of a nice little circle, which is great for two young kids that like to ride bikes and scooters.  Lia about killed us with laughter when she rode around the downhill side of the circle yelling "MAMMA SWEET MAMMA!".  The third time around she got going too fast and fell over the front of her scooter, scraping up knees and possibly her chin.  Darrin and I thought for sure she would start sobbing, but instead she got up and said "MAMMA OUCHIE MAMMA!" and then got back on her scooter and rode around the circle.  Check out this video of the kids going around the loop:

Once we were settled in, the whole family rode our bikes to the beach.  Darrin and the kids dug for sand crabs while I took pictures from higher up on the beach.  Here are some pictures from our day.
