And then I quickly realized that Face Time might be cool for 20-somethings like my sister, but not for a 30-something with two children. Because anyone who is a mom knows that as soon as the phone rings, your kids think of 27 different things they need to tell you about, and you're usually listening to the caller with one ear while shooting the Mean-Mom-Face to the kids, shooing them with your free hand and doing dishes with your other hand. Only on Face Time, you have to try and look calm and pretty (which is awfully difficult considering it's like looking in those weird mirrors in a funhouse at the fair) and attentive to the caller.

I will share my experience w/face time =) It's perfect for a mom of one who works graveyard and doesn't get to see her family off to sleep 4 out of 7 days a week. So while I don't look great..and they look sleepy, I at least get to send fake kisses over the phone and see my lil angel tucked in tight for sleep =)
It def changes the medium of the phone call
You cannot disable that!!!! I enjoyed our convo! However, I wish you were able to take a pic of the kiddos hiding under the kitchen table, about 5 minutes after we(everyone on my side of the phone) thought they had walked to bed. That was awesome!
