Close Quarters

If you ever feel like you haven't spent enough time with your kids, go camping in weather that is really way too cold for camping.  This last weekend we wanted to get away, and took our kids to Bodega Bay in our motorhome.  We stayed at Doran's Beach Campground, which we really love.  But yikes, it was so crazy cold.  The wind must have made it 20 degrees colder than it really was.

So aside from our 20 minutes at a time that we would spend outside, and a brief but great visit from my parents (who chose to stay at a little B&B in Sausalito rather than our motorhome), we played games (Sequence Jr. and Skip Bo are our current favorites), watched movies, cooked and just hung out.  And except for Lia coming down with a fever halfway through our trip, we really enjoyed ourselves.

A note from Ben
Buying that motorhome three years ago has paid big dividends in our family life.  Because like everyone else, we are very busy people.  Getting away for the weekend with our kids, with no chores and no obligations, is one of the best things we can do.  And without fail, before we even pull that motorhome back in our driveway, our kids are asking where/when we are going next.

Oh, by the way, three years ago Ben named our motorhome Lightning McQueen/Sally.  Lightning in the front, Sally in the back.  I guess that made sense to a three year old.

Ben, I love the name of the motor home! :) I am partial to Mater.
