Here's what adults in Wilton do for a fun night out - we go shootin'. After a spectacular dinner at Silva's Sheldon Inn with our good friends, Shawna and Don, we headed over to The Gun Room. I have actually never shot a gun in my life, but Darrin and Shawna are both hunters and Don is in law enforcement - so they were all pretty experienced. We brought with us the 357 Smith & Wesson revolver that I bought Darrin for Christmas and Don brought with them a 40 caliber crazy thing that randomly kicks back shells out the back when you pull the trigger.
I have to say, my aim was darn good for a newbie shooter. I got within half an inch of where I was aiming. Of course Don and Darrin were much more precise than that. This video is Shawna getting a shell in the head while she's shooting the 40.
The best part of the night was getting to wear these old science-lab looking eye protection that Don brought. I think the vibe I gave off was, I may look nerdy but stay the hell out of my way because I have a gun, and I'm no longer afraid to use it.
