Wrigley Field

The grand finale of our trip included tickets to a Chicago Cubs game at Wrigley Field.  This was Darrin's birthday present from my parents, but we all benefited.  Of course, Wrigley Field and Chicago were about two and a half hours away from South Haven, Michigan, so my parents rented a limo to take the six of us to the game.

First airplane ride, first limo ride, first Major League Baseball game - a whole lot of firsts for Ben and Lia on this trip!
Buddy Bear watching his iPod during our long car ride.
I hope he doesn't get bored with the movies before our four
hour plane ride tomorrow.
The mother of a Feingold child can't simply go to a game at a ballpark without planning and preparation. I had to assume that there would be nothing there that Ben could eat.  (And I was mostly right.)  So I packed up a lunch for the kids, including peanut butter sandwiches, Fritos, bananas, Snackimals vanilla cookies, and assorted candy from Indie Candy.  The only thing we did find at the ballpark for the kids to eat were peanuts, and the kids had a blast shelling them, throwing the shells on the ground in front of us, and eating the peanuts - THREE BAGS of them!

Us, well, we took turns with my parents sneaking away from the children to eat Chicago dogs. Wow!

Ben and Lia made it through about seven innings before getting totally bored with the game, but we did make it to the end when the Cubs won the game.  Unfortunately, that meant saying goodbye to my Dad and Carrie as the limo dropped us off at our hotel for the night.  Tomorrow we head home.

We had such a fantastic time visiting my parents, relaxing and spending family time.  We were all very sorry to say goodbye, but it's a little easier knowing we will see them in two weeks for my cousin's wedding.  A big thank you to my Dad and Carrie for bringing the Kimbles out to their home on the water and sharing the week with us.  Hopefully they are able to find their boat again underneath the grubby fingerprints, imported sand from the beach, and the various crayons and Legos we left in every room.
